chic autumn winter trends

I am currently in South Africa and as you do when on holidays you shop. But shopping away from home has me yearning for our fabulous Aussie designers. Yes, I do love the European designers but I REALLY love what we are offered locally- We are so lucky to have such beautiful fashion to choose from.

So lack of success in the stores in South Africa has led me back to scrolling the Aussie on line designers.

With all the new collections coming in, it's a great time to shop on line and in store, especially right now with all the new seasons trends on show.

New season fashion allows us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves either slightly or dramatically, depending on the level of change you are after. The new season styles give us reason to get excited, to revamp ourselves, update our look and feel like we have turned over a new leaf - to shake off those fashion cobwebs so we don't get too stale in our look.

New season also brings about new trends and the big ones for the up coming Autumn Winter Season are :- drum roll please .............

70's Style - with a fashionable nod to Studio 54, floppy hats, flares, vests and culottes are making their way into our stores and soon into our wardrobes. Carla Zampatti shows exactly how to pull off this revamped style

Man Style Suiting : vests and wide leg pants are super hip ( I'm using 70's jargon to get in the 70's mood) chic style tip here - to pull this look off you need to be really aware of proportions. Keep in mind the 2/3rd rule i.e. to keep the balance right you need either  2/3rds of your outfit to be on the top or 2/3rds to be on the bottom, just like the image from Seed below

Texture and Fur - as with most winter seasons neutrals are strong with specific emphasis this season on Winter White. It's so fresh and sophisticated. This is definitely where I will be investing my money this season. I am more than a little worried about what will happen to said beautiful look when my dogs greet me! still, it will be worth it just to feel fabulous in this new Autumnal shade - the things we do in the name of fashion!

With all the neutrals on show break up your pallet using texture to create interest, fur (faux of course) is a great way to add luxury, warmth and texture to your wardrobe

Culottes - a quick and easy way to update your wardrobe with a new winter look.  The great thing about this stye is that you can wear them now while the weather is still warm. Add a neutral heel to elongate your look ( the width of the leg can make you look boxy)

Chic tip when wearing culottes this season :- wearing heels will give you back the height that the wide leg pant takes away

Cobalt - looking to add some colour to your neutral winter palette? Hooray Cobalt is to the rescue. What a fabulous colour to brighten up any winter day. This is a great colour to wear next to the face as it can help make you look younger - love that!!

Hope you have enjoyed these fashion trends.... any questions re the upcoming winter fashions email me and I'll be sure ti respond

Have a chic week
