chic designer from New York Fashion Week

Wow, how time flies. It was 2 years ago since I was in New York for Fashion Week - a serious tick on my Bucket List. Going to the shows and being part of the atmosphere was , in a word - awesome!

On any given day New York is alive with energy - it is by far my favourite city and to be there for Fashion Week was very , very exciting.

Thankfully due to the wonders of modern technology, New York Fashion Week comes alive right into my work space where all the delights of the shows can be seen.

As with any new season there are always the strong trends which play out through all the shows. This years trends we have definitely seen before but here we see them with a new twist.

Trending this season were:-

1. monochrome - black and white comes into play

2. power dressing - in a feminine way

3. red and cobalt

4. faux fur - everywhere - in skirts, on hem lines, jackets

5. textures- combining textures such as marle knits, patent leather and faux fur translates life into old looks

My favourite looks this season are from Tracy Reese.  Loving any label which mixes and matches , this one is a stand out with her combination of fabrics colours and textures. Strong yet very feminine looks and very chic!

We stayed at The Surrey which was a fabulous boutique hotel - a home away from home

Hope Fashion Week inspires you...

Have a chic week
